Rudreshwar Temple is a remarkable Hindu temple that lies in Dhamtari district of Chhattisgarh. It is an ancient shrine of Lord Shiva that was built during the reign of the King Rudra Dev Chandravanshi, a ruler of the Chandravanshi dynasty. This temple is widely visited by the locals and tourists alike.

It Is Known For:-
1)    Rudreshwar Temple was constructed during the reign of the Chandravanshi dynasty. A king known by the name of Rudra Dev founded this temple in 1915.

2)    It enshrines Lord Shiva in the sanctum in the form of a Shivalinga and its worshiped on a daily basis by the pilgrims.

3)    The temple is constructed in the traditional Hindu style of architecture and was renovated different times as per the requirement.

4)    Mondays and the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivaratri are the days when this temple witnesses a huge footfall of the devotees.


Rudreshwar Temple is a holy site in Dhamtari and it is visited on a daily basis. Each day, numerous devotees throng to this temple to pay respects to Lord Shiva by performing the abhisheka of Shivalinga installed in the sanctum. Maha Shivaratri is considered as the best time for embarking a visit to this shrine as the entire temple is exquisitely decorated with flowers.
